What Makes a Bespoke Palette Different?
Our bespoke palettes are custom-designed and hand-poured specifically for one-stroke face painting. Unlike off-the-shelf palettes, each one is carefully crafted with colour combinations chosen to work beautifully together, giving you vibrant, blended results with minimal effort.
I'm also one of the few artists who deliberately mixes brands in their palettes. Why? Because different brands work together surprisingly beautifully — much like a blended family brings its own unique blessings.
There's also a very practical reason: if one brand discontinues a colour or stops production entirely, relying solely on that brand can leave you in a really difficult position. Mixing brands gives you flexibility, resilience, and — most importantly — stunning results.
Activating Your Paints
- Less is more — less water than you think is required.
- Do not over-wet your paints and always have a towel to hand.
- Do not mist with water.
- I'm a one-pot water artist and always have been. I use a sanitising product in my water to keep it clean — it's just paint-coloured water, not dirty water! When I feel my water is evaporating or needs changing, I will sort it. I don't arrive like a pack horse with a huge kit or loads of water.
Using Your Palette for Onestroke Painting
- Load your brush by sweeping it across two or more colours in a single motion to pick up multiple shades at once. Keep steady. Do not muddy the waters as they say.
- Use a flat or angled onestroke brush for bold onestroke designs and a round brush for detail work.
- Reload your brush regularly to keep colours fresh and vibrant.
- Work quickly and confidently — the one-stroke method is designed for fluid, efficient movement.
Cleaning Your Palette
Taking care of your palette will keep it in great condition for years:
- After each use: Wipe away any excess paint with a damp disposable cloth. I use Spontex or J cloths, but decomposable ones are also available. Do not scrub.
- Other cleaning methods: Use your onestroke brush with clean water to bring back the individual colours, then use the first method.
- Avoid soaking: Never submerge your palette in water as this can damage the paint and the palette itself.
- Storage: Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to prevent any problems.
- The beauty of my palettes is the resistant waterproof foam, which absorbs any excess water that may sit in your paints.
