How to Display Your Boards at Gigs
When using your boards to display your designs to clients on the job, we recommend three easy setups:
- The A-Frame Setup: Place your boards in a standard A-frame (sandwich board) at the front of your line.
- The Skirt Hanger Trick: Simply clamp the board into a sturdy skirt hanger. You can then hang it from your gazebo frame or prop it up safely on your table.
- The Click Frame Shield: Place your board inside a click frame protected by a clear plastic sheet. This keeps sticky fingers from rubbing off your beautiful face paint designs!
Step-by-Step Cleaning Guide
Taking care of your boards ensures they last for years. Follow these cleaning tips based on how stubborn the stains are:
- For general or light stains: Use a good-quality washing-up liquid. Always make sure to dry the board completely before you attempt to paint on it again.
- For stubborn stains: Use a soft-grained cream cleaner (such as Cif in the UK) or a multi-purpose cream cleaner. The soft grains gently agitate and lift the pigment out of the board. Wipe clean using a high-quality piece of kitchen paper.
- If you use cleaning oils: Oils can break down stubborn paint, but they leave a residue. If you use oil, you must wash it off entirely with a strong soap detergent and dry the board completely. Any leftover oil will repel your face paint and hinder your progress.
